Emmanuel Butler

For the second straight season, Emmanuel Butler has performed well in training camp. Saints Wire’s John Sigler wrote back in July 2019 that Butler was stealing the show at camp, and he’s doing it again in 2020.

It still feels like a longshot that he cracks the roster despite having played well for a second straight season.

If Butler could get some preseason reps in again second or third-string competition, he may have been able to show the coaching staff he belongs on the roster.

Sadly, he won’t get the opportunity, and with at least four players a lock for the Saints at receiver and Brees building rapport with a few others, Butler’s time with the Saints may again be drawing to an end.

There’s really only one position left in the receiver room, and there will several, all that lost their opportunity to shine aside from camp, vying for it.
