Tommy Stevens

The Saints made Tommy Stevens a tight end.

They have Jameis Winston, Taysom Hill, and Drew Brees at quarterback. If Stevens, the team’s seventh-round pick, does get picked up at tight end, he’d potentially be the fourth tight end on the roster, if somehow Josh Hill maintains his spot as well.

Stevens came from Mississippi State and is expected to be used in a Taysom Hill-like role while Hill adjusts to more of a backup quarterback role. That’s a good sign for Stevens who also played a versatile quarterback position at Penn State.

It shouldn’t be too tough for Stevens to crack the roster; it seems like the team really like what he can bring to the field.

He’s certainly a player that’s going to be a wild card moving forward, and if his skill isn’t quite that of Taysom, it may a tough sell in keeping Stevens over other positions where more depth could be crucial.

3 Saints that’ll undoubtedly be on the hot seat. dark. Next

At the end of the day, it’d be nice to see all three young stars crack the final roster.
