Joe Bachie Jr.

The Saints brought in linebacker Nigel Bradham. It felt like the former Eagle was set to be a lock on the 53-man roster. Now that he’s been cut, the Saints are seemingly open to adding young talent to help cover the middle fo the field.

One such undrafted free agent that the team was able to bring in is Joe Bachie Jr., a former standout at Michigan State.

Bachie Jr. should’ve been drafted after earning first-team All-Big Ten honors by ESPN and the coaches. Bachie notched over 100 tackles in two of his four seasons and ended his career with back-to-back seasons of at least nine sacks.

It wasn’t good enough to get drafted, but he was quickly picked up by the Saints following Day 3 of the draft. With a good chance to make the roster, Bachie understands his time is now.

Having been praised by the Saints linebacker coach, it’d be nice to see a prospect like Bachie Jr. get a chance to be behind a veteran like Demario Davis or Kiko Alonso for his first season in the league.
