Detroit Lions

This Lions team only had three wins in 2019, but they were competitive in almost every single game. This team will have its quarterback returning, multiple Pro Bowl players added, and a young head coach is returning.

This Lions team could be similar to Tennesse last season, where they are scrappy, well-coached, and they can make a few big plays to steal the game.

This is a team that had a strong chance of beating Green Bay twice, in 2019. If there was a different penalty call, they would’ve likely beaten the Packers in the first contest.

The Lions went into their second match-up against Green Bay with a third-string quarterback! The Packers should’ve dominated, but the Lions were leading for a few quarters and barely lost the game.

Having Matthew Stafford back could mean a swing of 4-5 games if you look at their season results from last year. Their rookie corner, Jeff Okudah, could provide dividends similar to Marshon Lattimore as a rookie, where he blankets half the field at corner.

Their other corner, Desmond Trufant, has plenty of talent left in the tank, so he will start right away and make a push for comeback player of the year.

On top of that, Jamie Collins is an excellent linebacker who’s been a Pro Bowl snub for the Patriots. D’Andre Swift could be a great rookie RB and he would’ve likely been the first running back taken if KC didn’t want more of an all-purpose back.

This team is loaded with talent, their franchise quarterback is returning, and they have a coach who had them competing in every game last year. Lions could very well sneak up on New Orleans in 2020.

They are always competing, they have a quarterback with a big arm, and they have a strong overall defensive unit. I like the Lions defense and weapons a little more than Philadelphia, so the Lions seem to be the team most likely to upset the Saints in 2020.
