Malcolm Jenkins

The Saints realized last year that they were not going to be able to give young star Vonn Bell enough money to stay with the team. Therefore, they proactively signed Malcolm Jenkins back to the team for his second stint with the Saints to replace him.

Since coming back to the Big Easy, Jenkins immediately called out Drew Brees for his opinion on why NFL players kneel. Despite that situation resolving itself with time, Jenkins’ contract certainly isn’t one the team will want to stay on for its entirety.

He then proved his focus isn’t on football by signing on to work with CNN on stories and broadcasting. While Jenkins could prove that wrong, it may be real concern over the course of the upcoming season.

The veteran’s time in New Orleans had already come to an end once, and while he signed on for four years, there’s no denying the team could cut him at any time after the second season, given the structure of his contract.

Earl Thomas is still performing at a high level and could definitely benefit the Saints.
