Potentially get a bargain

The Saints may be able to get a bargain if they extend Alvin Kamara before the 2020 season. He’s coming off a 2019 campaign in which he played below his typical high standard for almost ten games.

After being injured in Week 6, Kamara didn’t look like himself for the remainder of the season. While he did fight through the injury, he didn’t notch 1,500 all-purpose yards, a level he’d hit both his first two seasons in the league.

If a deal gets done soon, Kamara may not have the chance to show the league that he’s back. One of the most elusive running backs in the league could easily put on a show and make other teams beg for his services.

Well, if the Saints lock him up before he dominates, they’ll be fine. But, the reverse can also be said as Kamara could struggle in 2020, hurting his value. It sounds like Kamara would bet on himself if a deal doesn’t get done, so he’s clearly ready to prove his value this season.
