The New Orleans Saints are in talks with Alvin Kamara. Extending the three-time Pro Bowler is a move the Saints should make sooner rather than later.

There’s no denying the New Orleans Saints have moves to make in the near future. They have a championship-level franchise, and they’ve had one for the last few seasons, winning double-digit games the last three seasons.

After an absolutely loaded 2017 draft class, the Saints will have multiple contracts coming to an end in the near future.

The money won’t be there to pay all the players what they may also see on the market. Players like Marcus Williams and Demario Davis will, if Alvin Kamara is extended, likely be able to get elsewhere and make more money.

Whether that’s still possible later next offseason is unknown, but at the end of the day, the Saints will need to retain their talent with the limited cap space they do have.

One such contract coming to end is Alvin Kamara’s rookie deal. They’re in talks with extending him, and getting a deal done quickly would be ideal for both parties. That said, let’s dive into three reasons why that’s going to be the case as the 2020 season is under a month away.
