Number Three: Trey Hendrickson

Trey Hendrickson came to the New Orleans Saints in the third round of arguably the team’s best draft in franchise history back in 2017. Hendrickson has been a dominant rotation defensive end since he came to the team and will almost certainly be a lock to make the roster in that same role in 2020.

Standing at 6-foot-4, 270 pounds, Hendrickson is a big guy with quick nimble footwork.

Hendrickson is also coming off the best season of his career in 2019 where he managed to accumulate 19 tackles, four tackles for a loss, nine quarterback hits, 4.5 sacks, and one forced fumble despite only playing 38 percent of the team’s defensive snaps.

Hendrickson proved his case to remain on the Saints’ roster to the world in the Wild Card round of the playoffs vs the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 when he put up dominant numbers and had the best game of his career.

In that game, Hendrickson was a bright spot with five tackles, two tackles for a loss, one quarterback hit, one sack, and one pass defended. Coming from the defensive end position, that’s rather impressive.

Hendrickson is pretty much a lock to make the final 53-man roster, barring anything unforeseen.
