P.J. Williams

P.J. Williams is listed on the backup cornerback to Janoris Jenkins on the New Orleans Saints depth chart. He isn’t really vying for a starting spot as Jenkins has it pretty much locked up, but his playing time and future could be dependent.

P.J. Williams did not have a great season last year. He filled in for some time while Apple or Lattimore were out with injury. However, when Apple went down for the rest of the season, the team passed over Williams and signed Jenkins.

On the first day of practice with pads, P.J. Williams came out to show what he is made of. He forced a fumble and picked off Jameis Winston on a tipped ball by the wide receiver. He definitely showed more than he did last season.

It is radical to even think about (evident by my statement before) but could Williams have such a training camp that he sees close to a 50/50 split with Janoris Jenkins in two-receiver sets? I don’t know if that is possible, but he is coming out to prove what he is made of.
