Number Three: Adam Trautman

Adam Trautman is a rookie tight end that was drafted in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Trautman, who stands at staggering 6-foot-6 inches tall, is looking to make an impact on the New Orleans Saints this year and be the number one guy in 2021.

The plan with drafting Adam Trautman in the third round (and trading up to do so) seems to be that the team wants to ride out Jared Cook’s contract and let Trautman have a season of experience and learn under one of the most consistent tight ends in league history.

Trautman is a raw prospect but he’s already seeming to impress coaches and players at training camp.

In his college career at Dayton, Trautman hauled in 171 receptions for 2,295 receiving yards and 31 receiving touchdowns. In his senior season, he pulled a Joe Burrow and flew up the draft radars with a dominant 70 receptions for 916 receiving yards and 14 receiving touchdowns.

Trautman is a lock to make the final 53 man roster, but he’s not a lock to play right away. It will be interesting to see how his career pans out.
