2021 NFL Draft: 3 Big Ten prospects the New Orleans Saints should target

Two major conferences have had their 2020 season canceled. The New Orleans Saints should already be looking into how they may fit within the franchise.

The Big Ten and Pac 12 are both not playing football this fall. With many fans disappointed, NFL teams, the Saints included, need to be preparing to scout players they haven’t seen on the field in over a year.

As for the Big Ten, there most notable name is Justin Fields. In all of college football, the biggest name and No. 1 overall pick may be Trevor Lawrence. As for as pure talent, the Big Ten is among the top-three conference in the NCAA.

The Big Ten had five first-round picks in 2020, three of them coming from Ohio State. The Saints actually took one of those five in former Michigan guard Cesar Ruiz, a player projected to immediately start after the release of Larry Warford.

Without players being able to climb the boards, we can go ahead and dive into three Big Ten players that the Saints should target with their first-round pick.

That said, let’s breakdown a few players that’ll undoubtedly be drawing attention from scouts in just a few short months.
