Jameis Winston

It might sound odd to you that a backup player is irreplaceable, but hear me out. Last year, Winston threw for over 5,000 yards and 30 touchdowns. He led the NFL in passing over Brees, Patrick Mahomes, and all the other great quarterbacks.

What other NFL team has a backup quarterback that has an NFL passing leader to their name? I’ll answer that for you — none! I will tell you if you are a Saints fan, that you should feel very secure with the quarterback position this year.

In fact, you should feel secure with the position for years to come. If Drew Brees went down at any point this year, hopefully, he does not but IF then you have Winston to replace him, then you have Hill and Stevens after him.

The quarterback position is the deepest on the roster, and Winston should not be overlooked as one of the best on the team. Training under Brees and Payton will only increase the value that Winston provides to the team.
