Kareem Martin, OLB

The next position that has the potential of being injury prone and needing additional help midway through the season is — again — the linebacking core. There wasn’t really much talent added to the roster and they lost A.J. Klein in free agency.

It was partially helped with the recent addition of ex-Philadelphia Eagle Nigel Bradham, but the Saints depth still isn’t something to feel secure about — especially on the outside where Alex Anzalone starts (was hurt all last season) and a rookie backs him up.

Should one, or both, of them fall to injury again, Kareem Martin should be the Saints’ choice to add to their lineup. Last year, they went with Manti Te’o who had previously played for the Saints so he knew the defensive strategy.

Kareem Martin doesn’t have a long history of great stats every year he has played, but he is a player who can come in and hold down the fort in a situation that needs it. He would be a great addition to the depth chart if Anzalone or Baun fall to injury.
