Alvin Kamara (ranked No. 4)

In a surprising turn of events, Michael Thomas is NOT the highest-ranked fantasy player on the Saints — running back Alvin Kamara is. Now, this is not because Kamara is a better player than Thomas, but it is because running backs are valued higher than receivers in fantasy.

Carolina Panthers’ running back Christian McCaffrey ran away with the high running back points last season. Alvin Kamara came in at No. 9 in terms of highest fantasy points last season scoring just under 250 points with 249.52 points.

This season McCaffrey is still projected to lead all running backs. However, Kamara is projected to jump all the way up to the No. 3 ranked back behind only McCaffrey and New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley who were both monsters last year.

To be fair, Kamara wasn’t 100% for the bulk of 2019, hurting his fantasy value.

Now, this is in a point per reception format which is why Kamara is valued too highly because he catches so many passes out of the backfield, but according to Matthew Berry, he is supposed to be a top-five fantasy football player in this upcoming season.
