Austin Carr

The Saints signed Austin Carr to a one-year deal this offseason. Back in early May, the team inked the receiver. But, that doesn’t really ensure that he’ll be on the roster following the final round of cuts.

The 6-foot-1 Carr played in six games, starting three last season. He racked up just nine yards on one reception and four targets. To say the least, it was a down year. There are just receivers on this roster with higher potential than Carr.

In his best season, Carr still failed to hit 100 yards. With the Saints loaded receiving corps, there’s little opportunity for Carr to shine. They did sign him this offseason, but he may have a better chance of cracking the roster elsewhere.

Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders will be the top receivers, and who comes after them won’t matter that much. The Saints should bring on those who have the most potential, and that certainly isn’t 26-year-old Austin Carr.

The Saints have one of the best rosters, and these are some good players. Sadly, it feels unlikely they crack the team’s 2020 roster.
