Lil’Jordan Humphrey

The Saints have a plethora of receivers.

Really there are only four that are locks to make the roster. Those four include Michael Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Tre’Quan Smith and Deonte Harris. Aside from those four, the team will likely look at players like Lil’Jordan Humphrey.

Emmanuel Butler and Bennie Fowler would be my guess to crack the final roster. What sets Humphrey apart is the fact that he could be a mismatch nightmare for a quarterback that is as accurate as Brees. The former Texas Longhorn stands 6-foot-4.

That’d be a solid target in the red zone for Brees, but the team already has players like Jared Cook to take of that. Last season, Humphrey played in five games for the Saints. He had one target for 15 yards which wasn’t completed.

Humphrey hasn’t shown too much and isn’t the quickest player on the roster. For those reasons, I don’t think he’s going to end up being one of the 53 kept for the long haul. Humphrey should be an ideal target for the team’s practice squad.
