Garrett Griffin

Sorry, Garrett Griffin, but I would be seriously shocked if you cracked the 53-man roster. It’s not because you don’t belong in the NFL, but because the Saints have just one of the most loaded tight end groups in the league.

They have Jared Cook who totaled nine touchdowns, the second-most among tight ends last season. They also have Josh Hill, an elite blocker. To make things even worse for the 6-foot-4, 26-year-old, the Saints drafted the University of Dayton’s Adam Trautman in the third round.

Those three will make it hard for Griffin. After playing three games for the Saints in 2018, Griffin didn’t appear in a single game in 2019. To be fair, he was put on the injury reserved before the season even commenced.

Griffin still has a salary of $675,000 for this season, and he will turn into a restricted free agent once the season is over. That said, expect Griffin to be an easy cut as he’s competing for a position already loaded with talent.
