The New Orleans Saints have a plethora of talented players on their roster, but a few may be on the hot seat entering camp.

With camp underway, the Saints have already made their first round of cuts. Several surprising players are still on the roster as the team is being forced to trim from an original 90-man roster down to 80 due to concerns over Covid-19.

Many that need standout performances in camp to stay on the roster are still actively able to get that moment. Those players are typically young and occupy positions that are already loaded.

On a roster like the Saints, especially offensively, it’ll be tough to make the cut. They seemingly already have their quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers picked out. Even their tight ends are relatively locked up.

That’s not to say that players can’t still get into those positions, but it’ll be easier said than done like former XFL interception leader Deatrick Nichols found out after being cut at cornerback in that first round of cuts.

Nichols was expected to make ways after a terrific season in the newly-established league. Many on the offensive end will find the same struggle. That said, let’s dive into five Saints that’ll be on the hot seat in the coming weeks.
