Taysom Hill

Now, let’s get into the two easy decisions. Really, if it isn’t one of these two, it’d be an insane redirection by the team. The Saints brought back Taysom Hill after slapping a first-round tender on the restricted free agent.

Then, they added to his contract, locking him up for the 2021 season as well. Hill is still a wild card entering the season. He’s played little snaps at quarterback and still doesn’t have much experience at the position at the highest level.

That hasn’t stopped him from being a crucial Swiss Army knife, but what it may do is make Sean Payton question whether or not he wants him captaining the team in an event anything happens to Brees. Hill has just 13 pass attempts in the NFL.

While he has shown he has a cannon arm, the accuracy is what’s worrisome. I’m a firm believer that he could be a franchise-leading quarterback, but he hasn’t shown that yet. For that reason, he came in as our second option for if Brees failed to make it all 16 games.
