Robert Griffin III

The last of our potential trade options, all which comes behind the team’s two stellar backups, is Robert Griffin III.

Given the Saints’ success using Taysom Hill, one would think they could mold Griffin into a star quarterback. Even with Teddy Bridgewater who has above-average mobility, the Saints were able to thrive, going 5-0 in Brees’ absence last season.

Griffin III, for now, is the perfect backup to Lamar Jackson. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Griffin III thrived his rookie season, totaling 20 touchdowns in the air and seven more on the ground. He also had the lowest interception rate in the league.

Injuries derailed his career.

Now, like Bridgewater was, he’s getting his feet back under him. His agility is among the best in the league, and he still has the skill to throw the ball as he displayed last season, typically playing after Jackson cleared the way, oftentimes giving Griffin a 25-point lead.

Griffen is a free agent after this coming season. The Ravens might as well deal him if a suitor comes calling, or like with Bridgewater, he’ll leave when offered a starting role and eight-figures next offseason.
