Drew Brees missed five games last season. Who could the New Orleans Saints look to if that number were to skyrocket in 2020?

The New Orleans Saints improved their 13-3 roster this offseason.

With the addition of wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, the 49ers No. 1 receiver option a season ago, and the drafting of Cesar Ruiz and Zack Baun, this team has enhanced several lacking areas.

The Saints are primed to one again reign over the NFC South.

If they were able to win the division, it would make four seasons in a row, a divisional record. With the Bucs as adequate competition in the division, the Saints may actually have to work for that top seed.

One thing they’ll also be banking on is the health of Drew Brees, who missed five games with a thumb injury in 2019. They went 5-0 because of the excellent play of backup QB Teddy Bridgewater.

If Brees were to go down this season, who will the team trust to keep them at that uber-high level? Let’s dive into a few options Sean Payton may go to, three of which he’d have to trade for.
