Number One: Blake Gillikin

Blake Gillikin is a punter who was brought to the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft. Gillikin is in direct competition with only one other player, but that one other player is undoubtedly a future Hall of Famer, Thomas Morstead.

Gillikin has talent, I’m not saying that he doesn’t, but the fact that he managed to stick around longer than Ricky Ortiz or Krishawn Hogan who were actually competitive in for a position on the team seems a bit far fetched to me.

Gillikin will undoubtedly be released from the team barring anything unforeseen, and the only probable reason he is still on the team is to help keep Morstead’s legs fresh for the upcoming season.

There is reason to keep him on in the short term which may be what the team is looking at, but for now, we’ll expect him not to be on the roster too much longer.
