Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers

Jimmy Garoppolo or Jimmy G as he is referred to as, is the first quarterback on this list that made it to the Super Bowl last year — yes, we will get to Patrick Mahomes later. Garoppolo had a fantastic season with the 49ers last year.

In fact, it was by far his best season to date. Starting off his career as a backup to Tom Brady and playing under Bill Belichick really helped solidify the knowledge that Garoppolo came to San Francisco with.

Garoppolo threw for 3,978 yards and 27 touchdowns last season. He also threw for 13 interceptions but who is counting. Garoppolo will also take the 49ers into next season as favorites again to win the NFC.

This time, though, he will be met with fiercer competition. The Saints and Drew Brees might have got bested by this quarterback last season, but that means that they will be out for revenge when they meet again this year. Oh, and did we mention he almost won a Super Bowl?

For that reason, Garoppolo comes in at No. 3.
