3 Pro Bowler Saints that could leave the team in 2021
By Jake Rajala
Drew Brees
The Hall of Fame quarterback for New Orleans has made the Pro Bowl 12 times as a Saint.
He missed five games in 2019, but he still managed to make the Pro Bowl in 2020. Despite being 41 years old, Brees should reach that mark again this year with a dangerous offense and Sean Payton calling the plays.
It seems very likely that Brees will be playing in his last season.
If Brees has a drastic drop in performance, it will surely be his last go-around at age 41. If Brees is highly productive and his team wins a Super Bowl, he will probably ride off into the sunset. Either way, it seems to be Brees’s last ride as the Saints quarterback.
Drew Brees is Drew Brees, so if he throws for 3,500 yards and his team does well enough for 13 wins, it’s safe to say that Brees will get another Pro Bowl nod. Brees could put together a quality season again this year.
Even if his arm strength is decreased from the last year, his offense is very complementary to increase his production.
Michael Thomas can run every route in the playbook to help Brees, and the signing of WR Emmanuel Sanders will only lift this offense. Brees should put together a high completion percentage, and his accuracy will only help the players around him make more plays.
The Hall of Fame player who hopes to be getting ready for the Super Bowl during next year’s Pro Bowl is expected to retire a Saint and move on with his life in 2021. Even if Saints fans want to see Brees win three more Super Bowls, and get more national respect, the 13-time Pro Bowler should be gone in 2021.
Let’s see the last key Saints player could see their last year in the black and gold.
