Marvin Jones Jr.

Having been in the league eight seasons, Marvin Jones Jr. has perfectly split his time, spending half with the Bengals and the latter few years with the Detroit Lions, a team that consistently falls short of expectations.

After playing just nine games in 2018, Jones Jr. bounced back and totaled 779 yards in 13 games in 2019. He was just short of a 1,000-yard pace. With one such season to his name, the 6-foot-2 receiver has had a successful career so far.

Jones actually led the league in yards per reception in 2017. His ability to make plays after securing the catch should make him a top target. At the same time, Jones’ 68.1 catch rate is impressive and should be another reason the Saints give him a look.

The Lions added Jeff Okudah with the third pick in the draft. But, they still aren’t expected to be one of the better teams in the league.

If Detroit struggles, there’s no reason Jones Jr., who is the 26th-highest paid receiver in the league couldn’t play out the last season of his contract in New Orleans. He’ll be a prime trade but would likely be a one-year rental.

Adding Jones Jr. would be increasingly important if either top Saints’ threat went down.
