Jameis Winston

Lastly, Jameis Winston could 100% opt-out of this year. After learning that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were going to sign and did sign, Tom Brady, Winston already had the idea that he was going to become expendable.

That is exactly what happened and Winston hit the free-agent market. However, with COVID-19 and other factors making it a weird offseason, he went unsigned. Late in the period, he decided to sign with the New Orleans Saints.

His contract though is only one year. Currently, we do not know if Brees will be done after this year or if Winston is even the quarterback that will replace him. We know one thing, he was brought in for one year and nothing more.

Because of that, Winston could opt out and not play this year. He is already on a minimum salary as it is, and it would get rid of the chance that he could get hurt and never sign a long-term contract again.
