Janoris Jenkins

The Saints boasted one corner on the top 100 list, that was Pro Bowler Marshon Lattimore. The team missed out on another corner who performed better than Marshon last season and who was very deserving of elite recognition.

That veteran corner was brought over from New York a season ago, and his name is Janoris Jenkins, also known as jackrabbit. Janoris Jenkins had a career-high in interceptions last year with five interceptions.

Jenkins ranked 54th on the 2017 list, and he only recorded a mere three interceptions last year.

I would put Janoris Jenkins over Marshon Lattimore on the list, but also over Logan Ryan. Ryan is a free agent right now, who recorded one less interception than Jenkins, and Jenkins had one more forced fumble than Logan Ryan.

Jenkins got disrespected in 2019 because the Giants were awful, and the corner is aging among his peers. When Jenkins was brought to the Saints, he shined like he was back in his prime with the Rams.

Jenkins had an interception in week 17, then followed it up with a better performance against Minneapolis. “Jackrabbit” had a forced fumble and a tackle for loss against the Vikings in the wild card round.

Not only will Jenkins be a key addition for next year’s season success, but he may also be one of the biggest contributors to their hopes of winning the Super Bowl.
