Fourth year under Dennis Allen

Marshon Lattimore will look to improve his craft as the defense develops under Dennis Allen. Since Dennis Allen took over as the Saints defensive coordinator in 2015, their defense has steadily grown in ranking.

Dennis Allen’s specialty is coaching the secondary, so Allen should find many ways to get his Pro Bowl corner in his best situation. When the Saints won the Super Bowl, and the Saints secondary stole the show in the playoffs, Dennis Allen was the coach behind the scenes.

Allen coached the Saints secondary from 2008-2010, and the Saints secondary ranked third in interceptions during the Super Bowl year, according to ESPN.

Former Saints cornerback, Tracy Porter, was the key reason why the Saints reached the Super Bowl as he intercepted Brett Favre in the 2010 NFC championship when the Vikings were near field goal range in the final minutes.

Then Tracy Porter intercepted Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl and returned it for a touchdown to cap off the Colts chances.

Lattimore should garner more information from the Saints system and improve as Dennis Allen improves the system around him. When Lattimore stays healthy and improves his effort, Allen will have more opportunities dialed up for the former Defensive Rookie of the Year.
