CB, P.J. Williams

If the Saints were going to give this youngster a shot at the starting role, they would have done it already. However, at only 28 years old, Williams still has some value to his name just based on how young he is.

Williams’ contract expires at the end of this season; therefore, if the Saints are hoping to get anything out of the cornerback, they are going to have to trade him at some point in time this upcoming season.

Williams has started 23 games in four seasons with the Saints, mostly due to other cornerback injuries. In those seasons, he has only managed to grab four interceptions, two sacks, and 24 passes defended.

Even when the Saints’ Eli Apple went down last season, they signed Janoris Jenkins off the waivers to replace him — not P.J. Williams. With Williams being expendable, it is now or never to get rid of him and get something in return.

The return really wouldn’t be anything too great though.
