Marquise Goodwin

Did you think one former 49ers’ wide receiver was enough? Marquise Goodwin could also be traded before the season begins, and at the right price, he would be an excellent addition for the Saints offense. Goodwin was dealt in April to Philadelphia.

The uber-quick Goodwin would slide in over third-year receiver Tre’Quan Smith as the team’s third-string receiver, joining former teammate Emmanuel Sanders. Michael Thomas would still be the clear No. 1.

Goodwin put up 186 yards on 21 targets last season.

The former third-round pick played in just nine games, starting six of them. He was underused during his time in San Fran but did near 1,000 yards in 2017, totaling over 100 receptions as well. The Eagles need receivers so trading him again may not be in their plans.

Goodwin has increased his catch rate each of his last four seasons, so his fit alongside ultra-accurate Drew Brees could be a good one.

A free agent in 2022, Goodwin would at least be locked up for this season and next, keeping the Sanders, Thomas and Goodwin trio locked in for two seasons. Snagging him from Philadelphia may be a challenge though.
