The New Orleans Saints are one of the best teams in the NFC. One can easily see that as WR Emmanuel Sanders comes in at No. 12 on our player rankings.

Janoris Jenkins was 15. Malcolm Jenkins was 14. Sheldon Rankins was 13, and now recently-added wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is coming in at No. 12. He’ll be a crucial piece for the Saints this season.

Sanders was traded mid-season last year, finding himself on the San Francisco 49ers just in time to make a postseason run. He helped lead the 49ers to a first-round bye, a Super Bowl berth, and an insanely high-scoring victory over the Saints during the regular season.

He then signed a two-year deal with the New Orleans Saints. He was brought in to give a second quality wide receiver. Ted Ginn Jr. and Tre’Quan Smith were the players that should’ve helped Brees out.

Sadly, the team got little production from that duo, forcing the Saints hand in free agency.

Many also thought the team may address wide receiver in the first few rounds of the draft, but they opted for offensive lineman, linebacker, and tight end, leaving Sanders as key offensive acquisition.

The 33-year-old Sanders will now be looking to help improve an offense that was already one of the best in the league. After recording over 850 yards last season, Sanders will come in prepared to share the spotlight with Michael Thomas.

Having recorded three 1,000-yard seasons on his illustrious career that includes two Pro Bowls and one Super Bowl title. Now, he’ll be part of the Saints looking to add yet another Super Bowl to his resume.

Sanders was quite possible the best and most underrated addition of the offseason and will undoubtedly add a new dimension to this already-elite offense.
