Devonta Freeman

In the event that Murray and Kamara are both injured or that the Saints decide they want another backup for Murray. For that instance, they would have to go to the free-agent market to find such a player.

There are several free agents that would be a perfect fit for the Saints. The first option would be Devonta Freeman. Still unsigned, Freeman would be a terrific backup and even starter if needed on short notice.

He certainly proved his capability with the Atlanta Falcons. In 2015 and 2016, Freeman rushed for over 1,000 yards and eleven touchdowns in both seasons. He is also a two-time Pro Bowl candidate, those years as well.

That type of talent doesn’t just disappear.

Unfortunately, the Falcons no longer had a use for Freeman which is why he finds himself still on the free-agent market. If he was willing to reduce his salary, he would be a perfect last-minute addition.
