What would the New Orleans Saints do in the event that star running back Alvin Kamara gets injured for a prolonged time period?

People have rumored about Saints’ star running back Alvin Kamara holding out this year, the last of his contract.

Rarely, though, have people thought about what is going to happen if for some reason Kamara goes down with an injury as he did for some of last season.

That thought came to reality last season, although it was only for a couple of games. The fact that Kamara is human and can get injured put Saints’ fans on edge. What would have happened if it was for all year or at least a larger part of the season?

Alvin Kamara plays the majority of the Saints’ offensive snaps at the running back position. However, there still needs to be players ready to take his position at any moment in any game if he were to go down with an injury.

What would happen, knock on wood, if Kamara goes down in training camp placing him on the injured reserve for the rest of the year? The Saints are always going to have to be prepared for the worst.

Here are three players that would be next up if Kamara goes down.
