Justin Simmons, FS/SS

In a short amount of time, Justin Simmons has made his name known as a star safety. The first couple of years with the Broncos Simmons started 16 games at strong safety; in the last two years, Simmons started 32 games at free safety.

That might not seem important, but the versatility to jump from strong to free safety is like an offensive lineman going from guard to tackle; they do two different things. He has also shown that not only can he change positions, but he can also excel at both.

In a short five years, Simmons has also accumulated 11 interceptions, 28 passes defended, two sacks, and 289 tackles. It is even more impressive when you considering he barely played his rookie season at all.

Saints starting free safety Marcus Williams’ contract is up at the end of this season and he could replace him if Williams asks for too much as an up-and-coming superstar.

However, I would love to see the team sign back Williams, sign Simmons, release Jenkins (a release after the second year is more likely), and move Simmons to strong safety.
