3 unlikely Saints that’ll be a lock to make the 2020 Pro Bowl
By Jake Rajala
Ryan Ramczyk
Ryan Ramczyk has quietly been one of the best tackles in the NFL since the Saints drafted him at 32nd overall in the 2017 NFL draft. Like Demario Davis, right tackle Ramczyk has failed to be voted to the pro bowl, yet he received First Team All-Pro honors last year.
The Saints’ offense will be carried by a balanced attack of passing through the air to Michael Thomas and running on the ground to Kamara. It’s only made possible by a sturdy offensive line.
That said, the Wisconsin product, Ramczyk manages to keep Brees out of harm’s way and Pro Football Focus graded Ramczyk as the run blocker of the year.
"J.J. Watt has had a tackle or QB hit in every one of his career NFL games. According to NFL Research, Watt failed to record any statistic against Ryan Ramczyk and the Saints during their week one matchup, the first team he never recorded a statistic. Khalil Mack can be added to the list of elite pass rushers that Ramczyk shut down. Ramcyk shut down Mack every time they squared off in the Saints-Bears week seven matchup."
It’s hard to do better than beating the elite competition, but the 4th-year player can hone in on his craft as he will look to block for Drew Brees in possibly Drew’s last year. Ryan will look to put together another great year of performance to earn a great deal of money during his contract year.
Expect another breakout season from Ramczyk.
