It would cost the team virtually nothing.

Veterans are the way to go — apparently. The New England Patriots just picked up a prime superstar quarterback with an injury history for pennies of what he is worth — could the Saints do the same?

I’m here to tell you that the Saints could add top-level talent for virtually no cost to the team whatsoever. The veterans minimum in the NFL is just over $800,000 for players who have been in the league between four and six years.

Now, he would add a monetary charge to the team in the salary cap, but in terms of players or picks to give up in demand of adding talent in pursuit of a Super Bowl run, Josh Gordon could end up being angel-sent.

Assuming he stays healthy and drug-free, Gordon could be a better fit for the Saints than any trade they could make to get another receiver. However, as aforementioned, he’d impact their salary cap, something they don’t have much of.
