Chris Jones, DT

The last Chief that the Saints should make a run for is defensive tackle Chris Jones. This is the most luxurious target on this list as Jones has a hefty contract that the Saints might not even be able to handle.

However, that is more of a reason for the Chiefs to look to save money in this area. Jones currently makes $16 million and like Mathieu, his contract is up at the end of the season. Jones is worth the money though.

Only going into his fifth season, Jones has already racked up 33.0 sacks. His highest season total is 15.5 which matches the likes of defensive end Cameron Jordan. He was also selected to last year’s Pro Bowl. He is worth the money if the Saints have it.

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs made history this week. For the first time ever, an NFL player is the highest paid major sports athlete. However, that kind of contract is not without its consequences.
