Tyrann Mathieu, S

Tyrann Mathieu locked down the Chiefs’ secondary last year. With the Saints losing Vonn Bell, Mathieu could be just the replacement they need. After all, how long can Malcolm Jenkins last in the NFL as he continues to age?

Mathieu is currently set to make just over $11 million this season. In 2021, his contract is roughly $14 million. However, there is a potential for Mathieu to be released or hit the market as early as next offseason.

With him being in what is potentially his last year with the Chiefs, the Saints should be able to pry him from their grips easily. I mean, why get something out of Mathieu if you know you won’t be able to sign him back.

The only stipulation would be that Mathieu would have to sign at least a three to five-year contract with the Saints to make it worth it. It wouldn’t be worth the hassle to trade for him if he leaves at the end of the season.
