2021 seventh-round pick + Josh Hill

If the Saints even look at Njoku, they’ll likely be dropping Josh Hill, a veteran tight end usually only used for his elite blocking. Hill has been on the team since 2013 yet has not recorded over 35 receptions in a season.

He’s not quite the most dynamic piece to the offense, but he is consistent.

At 30 years old, Hill is expected to make the roster, but if the team may rather have two top-tier endzone threats instead of Hill, they could trade him and a seventh-round pick for the young tight end.

The Browns would get some veteran presence on a young drama-filled team while the Saints would get Trautman a sidekick that could allow the Saints to run two tight end sets for years to come.

With those compensatory picks, the Saints may not mind giving up a seventh-round pick. However, given Njoku’s value, this may not be a deal that the Browns are comfortable with.
