The New Orleans Saints have improved tremendously this offseason, and with David Njoku on the trade market, could they look into securing a second top TE?

There’s no denying the New Orleans Saints improved their roster this offseason. By bringing in former 49ers’ No. 1 receiver Emmanuel Sanders, the Saints put the league on notice. But it didn’t stop there.

They added guard Cesar Ruiz, released Larry Warford, and made a few necessary re-signings. In the midst of all that, they added tight end, Adam Trautman, in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Along with Jared Cook (one of the best tight ends in the NFL) and Josh Hill, the Saints’ tight end room is loaded. However, at the right price, they should look to add David Njoku, an uber-athletic and young tight end on the trading block. Njoku currently plays for the Cleveland Browns.

“It is in David’s best interest to find a new team at this time,”‬ Njoku’s agent told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Browns added Falcons star Austin Hooper, easing up one of the many tight end threats in the NFC South.

That said, Njoku’s value will vary, but it certainly seems unlikely he’ll be on the Browns at the beginning of the season. Could the Saints trade for him? While it’s also unlikely, let’s dive into three trade scenarios where it could be possible.
