The Kansas City Chiefs inked their superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes to a ten-year deal. Could any Saints star be worthy of that lengthy contract?

The Patrick Mahomes contract extension had me thinking which players on the New Orleans Saints would be worthy of a ten-year contract extension? Let’s just say there aren’t many players around the entire NFL truly worthy of one.

Do you go with the guys who are really good right now? Do you opt to go with guys who have proven to be durable and can withstand the ups and downs of an NFL season? You could go many different routes, but the same purpose still stands, you want a player you can build around.

Looking at a deal worth around half a billion dollars, Mahomes is that player. An MVP and Super Bowl Champion, Mahomes has continued to elevate his game and will continue to be the Chiefs superstar into 2030, and we aren’t even out of 2020 yet.

With a long list of players representing the team at the 2019 Pro Bowl, the Saints have a few top talents that they could want to lock up for a decade as well. That said, here is a look at three players on the Saints who are worthy of a ten-year contract extension.
