Top-tier coaching staff

Since 2006, Sean Payton has manned the Saints. He’s been an excellent head coach, finishing last in just one season.

However, that 2008 season the Saints were 8-8. They were only last due to the fact that the rest of the division was a combined 32-16. That said, in Payton’s stint with the Saints, they’ve won six divisional titles and the team’s lone Super Bowl in 2009.

While Payton’s the main man over it all, it’s been far from just a one-man show. Pete Carmichael and Dennis Allen have both done terrific jobs over the last few seasons and continue to evolve as coaches under Payton.

Mickey Loomis deserves quite a bit of credit as well as he’s been one of the best executives in the NFL over the last few seasons. He continues to team up with Payton and the scouting department to select top-tier athletes that perfectly fit the style of play in the Big Easy.
