Drew Brees is at retirement age

Drew Brees came into the NFL in 2001 after being drafted by the (then) San Diego Chargers. His first year was rough, but he corrected everything and had four more above average seasons with the Chargers.

He then came to the Saints and would go on to reach even higher heights. He has accomplished great things from records to a first Super Bowl, but the fact of the matter is — he is coming to the end of his career.

This offseason, there was a major debate about whether Brees was going to retire or not. He even started to receive interest in a television analyst role from multiple networks including ESPN, NBC, and CBS.

Obviously, he ended up signing a two-year contract to stay with the Saints. Now, that contract has a one-year option that most analysts think he will take and retire at the end of this season, which will save the Saints from letting him go. Either way — he is getting too old to keep playing.
