3 Saints that have an uphill battle to make the roster
The New Orleans Saints have talent all throughout the roster, but some players will struggle more than others to make the final 53 man roster.
Every offseason gives NFL coaches, staff, and fans the opportunity to evaluate their rosters prior to gearing up for a long season. For the Saints, they’re going to have to be extra picky as their roster will be one of the most talented in the league.
Hand-picking the guys who suit up for your team is hands down the most important decision a coaching staff is required to make. Sean Payton and his staff have done an excellent job at picking the right personnel throughout the years.
Not all players have fate fall in their lap however and will be either hit the road to a new team or land a spot on the coveted practice squad. The Saints, like every other team, will be pressed to finding their best 53-man roster.
What does benefit the team is that they believe in having versatile players. There may not be a need for extra running backs or tight ends or wide receivers when you have Taysom Hill and Ty Montgomery on the roster.
That said, here is a look at three players on the Saints who will have an uphill battle to crack the final roster this season.
