The NFL preseason usually doesn’t mean anything besides four games that third-string backups get to play, except for these four Saints who will benefit from it.

The New Orleans Saints have prepared for this season. Between free agency, the draft, and other offseason tasks, the Saints have set themselves up as a Super Bowl contender and likely to have a great season, but the next step is the preseason.

The NFL preseason is some of the most unwatched, unexciting four games of every team’s season. Most starters don’t see the field until at least the third or fourth game of the preseason and never play full games.

The New Orleans Saints follow the exact same script.

In reality, you won’t see names like Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, Cameron Jordan until the fourth game if they even decide to play at all due to the risk of injury before the season starts.

However, the Saints are full of players that will spend time playing in the preseason, and there are a handful of those players that will need the preseason for a number of reasons. Here are four of those players that will benefit from the preseason.
