Taysom Hill

Taysom Hill has been one of the most hyped players on the Saints after his stunning game in Minnesota for the Wild Card round of the playoffs. In that game, Hill did it all, he threw, ran, and caught the ball bulldozing defenders in his path.

However, because of that one game, Hill was overhyped going into the offseason. So overhyped that the Saints placed a first-round tender on him and the signed him to a massively overpaid contract for two years.

Then, the team brought in a “Swiss Army” knife in Ty Montgomery as well.

The unique thing about Taysom Hill is that he almost literally plays every position on the offense and even gets into special teams. The downside to that, though, is that he never perfects any of the three. That can viewed as a positive or negative.

Last season, Hill didn’t catch enough to be a receiver or rush enough to be a running back, and he didn’t throw enough to be a quarterback. Being bluntly honest, Hill is an overpaid and overhyped mediocre asset that the Saints can do just fine without.
