Malcolm Jenkins

When free agency hit, the Saints knew there was a good chance that they were going to lose Vonn Bell to a better contract, and they turned out to be right. The star safety signed a massive deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.

In replacement, the Saints signed another safety — Malcolm Jenkins. Jenkins is coming from Philadelphia, but he spent a good portion of his early career with the New Orleans Saints and even won a Super Bowl with them in 2009.

The ten-year veteran had his best years in Philadelphia being the one and only star safety there. In New Orleans, his numbers weren’t as good, because he played alongside some other talent at the position.

This time around, the same will be true.

Not only will Jenkins have Williams in the other safety slot, but he will also have Chauncey Gardner-Johnson vying for time at the safety position as well. This will only decrease his production.
