Number Three: Saints will extend streak of not allowing 100-yard rusher

The New Orleans Saints currently have the NFL’s longest active streak without allowing a 100-yard rusher in 43 consecutive games including the regular season and playoffs.

I predict that the Saints will continue that streak all throughout the 2020 season. Given the number of talented backs in the NFC South, it’ll be tough to do.

The Saints have completely shut down some of the NFL’s best running backs throughout their streak and will look to do the same in 2020. Some of the guys they’ve shut down include Todd Gurley, Ezekiel Elliott, Dalvin Cook, and Christian McCaffrey.

If the Saints can shut those guys down with a sub-par defense then I think they will continue their success in 2020. Sean Payton and his defensive scheme also deserve quite a bit of credit for the team being so solid at stopping the run.

All that to say, the team’s defense should be a force to be reckoned with this season.
