Number One: The defense will have two players reach double-digit sacks

My first bold prediction for the New Orleans Saints defense is that they will have multiple players reach the double-digit sack plateau. This isn’t an impossible feat, but it is one that marks a very stout defense.

The only Saints defender with double-digit sacks in 2019 was Second Team All-Pro defensive end Cameron Jordan who tallied 15.5 in that category. There were a handful of players who weren’t far off including Marcus Davenport with six sacks, Demario Davis with three sacks, and Malcom Brown with two sacks.

The Saints need help with guys getting to the quarterback and they seemingly addressed that need this offseason. They added the NCAA’s No. 2 leader in sacks in 2019 with the addition of Zack Baun in the 2020 NFL Draft.

They also added Malcolm Jenkins to the secondary who can play down and get to the quarterback like he did with the Eagles in 2019 when he totaled two and a half sacks. Marcus Davenport is a guy to watch out for as he has been getting better every season and is poised for a break out season in 2020.

All in all, the Saints are loaded on the defense and some unlikely players could help the Saints attain having multiple players in the double-digit sack category.
