We’ve covered the NFC South and the offense as far as bold predictions go, leaving the Saints highly-optimistic defense left to inquire about.

The New Orleans Saints have an up-and-coming defense and could see significant improvement in all aspects of the defense in 2020.

The Saints acquired great talent to add to the unit with Malcolm Jenkins, Zack Baun, and Anthony Chickillo all being brought to the team.

The Saints also cut ties with some sub-par players including Eli Apple and Vonn Bell and will look to rejuvenate the life their defense has shown in recent years.

While Bell wasn’t necessarily sub-par and had a few tremendous games in the black and gold, his time in the Big Easy was over. Bell could’ve stayed if he wanted to, and the team may have found room. Sadly, they moved on, and now Jenkins will help man the secondary with Marcus Williams.

A young core mixed with elite veterans, the Saints defense should be vastly better than it was a season ago, despite being a top-15 defense last year. Here are three bold predictions for the New Orleans defense in 2020.
